Scope:
|
Development and communication of the commodity vision throughout the organization. Plans, organizes, and controls strategic activities surrounding the acquisition of Purchase Complete commodities for the ASD, Operator division of Overhead Door Corporation including management of key purchase complete supplier relationships. This position will work closely with Product Management and Engineering teams as they work to implement Supply Chain Management strategy to achieve lowest total costs, effective asset management, continuous quality improvement, delivery, and cycle time performance improvement and early supplier involvement in product development. This position supports key growth initiatives globally, and hence provides significant visibility and growth potential for the right candidate. The commodity spend responsibility will range from $15M to $35M

Duties:
|
Successful supplier transition with zero impact to schedule and quality.
Develop Emerging Regions strategies while retaining flexibility and responsiveness in the supply change to North American market needs.
Development and implementation of Cost Savings Initiatives covering selected commodities.
Maintains continuous in-depth knowledge of material market conditions, industry trends, and developing technologies.
Establish and manage key supplier performance goals and objectives; communicate periodic results to plan and manage top-level continuous improvement.
Manage and eliminate source non-conforming materials - root cause analysis.
Develops keen awareness of industry performance benchmarks.
Establishes top-level plans providing foundation for improved factory flexibility and responsiveness. Provide system planning for sourced parts as required.
Manages sourcing decisions covering selected commodities conducting competitive bid process and supplier evaluation - risk, quality, price, and logistics.
Manages and negotiates supply agreements in support of overall supply chain goals and objectives.
Promotes and monitors early supplier involvement in key product developments, using the supplier's expertise to optimize quality and manufacturability

Educational Qualifications: |
4 year bachelor degree
5+ years Supply Chain or Product Management Experience
|
|
Key Competencies:
|
College degree, and 5-7 years Supply Chain Management / Manufacturing experience required.
CPM, CPIM and/or APICS certification a plus.
Strong commodity knowledge, 5 years experience in commodity management, experience project managing transition of suppliers, production and /or processes.
Product Management / Marketing experience a plus
Strong negotiation skills.
Excellent teaming abilities.
Strong communication and leadership skills dealing with a global cross-functional team.
Ability to work comfortably in a high matrix organizational environment.
Experience implementing rapid replenishment programs (VMI or consignment programs).
Demonstrated skills in leadership, communications, negotiations, and human relations.
General knowledge of regional and international trade compliance laws and issues
